Accommodation
All the international students will have housing at the dormitory on the campus of Yeungnam University without a particular application process. This means it is mandatory to reside at the dormitory. Usually 2 to 4 students will share a flat in the dormitory. The fee for the dorm is approximately USD600 per semester. At the dormitory, you can also apply for a meal plan throughout a semester. The meal plan is optional and it is approximately USD600 per semester. You can decide whether to have the meal plan or not by filling out the section of meal plan on the application form.

Dormitory meals are usually served in Korean cuisine with a steamed rice, soup and side dishes.
Alien Registration
Once you arrive in Korea, you have to register as an alien at the immigration office in Korea. This process gives you to obtain an Identification as a foreigner who legally stays in Korea. After you apply for the alien registration, an ID card, Alien Registration Card will be given to you. You can then use the card as an ID for may issues like banking.
Banking
Once you finish the alien registration, you can open an bank account with Alien Registration Card. There is a bank on campus and you can pay a visit to the bank to open an bank account. Normally, it is quite convenient to open your own bank account because there may be a chance to have scholarship or financial issues in Korea.
Cell Phone
If you have your own ID (Alien Registration Card), you can then contact cell phone shops in Korea to have and use your own cell phone. Usually, the buddies of international exchange students are assisting the international student during the process of cell phone transaction.
Student ID Card
After you get your ID (Alien Registration Card), you have to apply for Student ID Card at Yeungnam University. You must contact the Office of International Cooperation at Yeungnam University right after you get the Alien Registration Card to apply for Student ID Card.
Health Care Service
All of exchange students should join the YU Health Care Policy by paying health care service fee, which costs 15,000 KRW per semester, after arriving at the campus. The Health Care Service covers medical cares in case of simple diseases such as cold and dental treatment with reimbursement of up to US $100 are guaranteed.
Insurance
All exchange students should either purchase the private international student insurance after arriving at Yeungnam University or purchase it from their home counties in advance that covers them while studying at Yeungnam University. The insurance offered by Yeungnam affiliated insurance company costs about $200 per year ($100 per semester) with reimbursement of up to $100,000 for unexpected illness and accidents. The private insurance details will be covered during orientation.
Attendance to the classes
In Korea, the attendance to the classes is important element in the assessment of a student's academic performance. Normally, the attendance to a class is checked by using Student ID Card. When you do not have the Student ID Card, you need to contact the professor of the class to check the attendance manually.
Student Clubs
There are a number of student clubs at Yeungnam University. Those clubs cover lots of field from academic activities to sports. If you wish to join the clubs, Yeungnam University recommend you to arrange an appointment with the clubs assisted by your buddy.
