Dear YU Community,
A scorching heat wave has gripped Korea after the country underwent a record-long monsoon season. Hope everyone is fine.
As you already knew, Korean government announced the 2nd phase of social distancing on August 24. Understanding the severity of the situation, we have decided to operate Fall 2020 under Phase 2 at the latest YU Academic Board meeting on August 25 as follows:
First, only practice-based courses and those that include lab experiments will be allowed to be offered in-person.
Second, all lecture-based courses except for the above mentioned courses will be available online from September 1 (Tue) to October 16 (Fri).
Third, the midterm exam will be conducted at the instructor’s discretion. Please keep in mind to refer to the class syllabus and the notice in the Educational Portal System.
Any further adjustments to academic operations and responsive measures will be made based on the government guidelines and how the Covid-19 situation unfolds. We will inform you of any decisions we make in a prompt manner.
Please stay safe and healthy until we see each other on campus.
August 25, 2020
